Bobby O'Neill was born in San Antonio, TX on February 15, 1953. He graduated from Antonian High School in 1971. Bobby was a talented pianist and musician in the San Antonio area, and collaborated with several bands throughout his musical career. He went on to become the owner, producer, and engineer of his studio, The B.O.S.S. (Bob O'Neill Sound Studio), including two record companies: Rainforest Records and Ward-9 Records. Bobby O'Neill was born in San Antonio, TX on February 15, 1953. He graduated from Antonian High School in 1971. Bobby was a talented pianist and musician in the San Antonio area, and collaborated with several bands throughout his musical career. He went on to become the owner, producer, and engineer of his studio, The B.O.S.S. (Bob O'Neill Sound Studio), including two record companies: Rainforest Records and Ward-9 Records. He produced bands such as San Antonio's Slayer and The Butthole Surfers. He later attended the University of Houston and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Architecture in 1992. Bobby and his wife, Stacey, moved back to San Antonio with their two children in 1993 and that is where he stayed the rest of his life. He had a deep love for the culture of the city, and enjoyed making music with his friends in several bands throughout his entire life. Some of his musical ventures include Pablo's Grove, Jody Jenkins Band, Billy Mata Band, Secret Circus, Traces of Ritual, and many more. Bobby passed away on September 1, 2016, due to complications from open-heart surgery following a heart attack. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Richard James O'Neill, his mother Florence Irene Burkett O'Neill, and his younger brother John O'Neill. He is survived by his two children, Caitlin Meara O'Neill and Devin James O'Neill, his daughter-in-law Ivonne O'Neill, his granddaughter Arilynn O'Neill, the mother of his children Stacey Reed O'Neill, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and former bandmates: Phil Arroyo, Ron Rose, and Tom Devine, just to name a few. He will be greatly missed by his family and the musical community of San Antonio. His memorial service will be at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N. Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, on Saturday September 17 at 5 pm with an Irish wake to follow.
